Faith that Conquers Fear

Published: July 23, 2018

Everyone is fearful of something, but there comes a time when we all need to exchange our fears for faith. Besides, God hasn’t given us the spirit of fear, but He has given us power, love, and soundness of mind. (II Timothy 1:7) We do not have to fear anything! The more we activate our faith, the greater God is able to move on our behalf even when things look impossible! Moses was fearful when God first called him to deliver the Children of Israel. Once he understood his purpose and was faithful to trust God, he became accustomed to witnessing the unfolding plan of God. With every encounter, his faith increased, and his momentum became his driving force.

When he reached the Red Sea and was seemingly trapped between the sea and an army of Egyptian soldiers, he did not fret. He waited on God to pray to vide a way of escape as he witnessed before. At the instruction of God, Moses lifted his rod and proclaimed, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.” (Exodus 13:14) Miraculously the sea parted enabling the children of Israel to escape the Egyptian soldiers and cross over on dry land.

Moses did not worry about what was ahead of him or behind him because he had come to trust that wherever God guided, He would also provide. As you trust God to order your steps and establish you, fear will take a backseat to faith, and it will become easier to take God at His word. Learn to trust God and allow Him to split the Red Seas in your journey.

Learn to fuel your faith by meditating on God’s word and you will no longer be taunted by fear!
